Despite its grand age, having been founded way back in 1860, esteemed Swiss watchmaker and jeweler Chopard is not one to rest on its laurels and has announced the opening of its newest New York flagship boutique.
After 15 successful years on the city’s iconic Madison Avenue, from December 2022 the brand’s North American flagship will find a glamorous new home just moments away in Fifth Avenue’s Crown Building.
The new boutique will be officially opened by Chopard’s co-presidents and siblings Caroline Scheufele and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, whose family have owned the Maison since 1963.
Inside, the new American home of Chopard will reflect both the brand’s storied history and its place in the world of contemporary luxury, with an elegant interior inspired by the classic New York penthouses by architecture firm Warren and Wetmore.
Bespoke furniture by carefully selected craftspeople is artfully littered across the two-story boutique, which will not only consist of a main salon but also a Gentleman’s Lounge and an exclusive VIP room.
As with every Chopard boutique, flagship or otherwise, the new New York destination has been carefully designed as a home away from home where valued clients can shop the brand’s revered pieces.
To celebrate the opening of its newest store, Chopard is introducing two new editions to its Happy Sport watch collection. Both of the new Happy Sport Fifth Avenue Editions feature the iconic apple symbol in a nod to New York’s affectionate nickname.
The first timepiece, which is limited to just 17 editions, comes in all black with an apple-leather strap, while the second is a diamond-set jewelry version boasting a mother-of-pearl dial and a ruby apple.
Other recent collections from Chopard include My Happy Hearts – a brand-new selection of dainty jewels centered around a delicate heart motif – as well as its holiday collection, which sees the return of the Maison’s beloved winter mascots.
